I'm not sure if this type of post is frowned upon here, so if so, I apologize.
I'm a craft beer and cocktail guy that is trying to explore more of the Wine side of things, but the best place I have near me is Total Wine and I haven't always liked their recommendations and they always try to upsell me. I'm just trying to find bottles between $10-$15 but there are so many that I'm getting overwhelmed.
I'm a big fan of the grassy Sav Blancs – my go-to being Oyster Bay. I also enjoy Spanish Reds that are earthier. I purchased a bottle of Bodegas Volver La Mancha Temperanillo that I enjoyed.
If anyone could recommend wines similar to those or wineries and importers to look for that would be greatly appreciated. I've just been trying to pull ones off of the shelf but there are so damn many and a lot of them are overly sweet.
