What do you do when you open a bottle you dislike?
I'm not speaking to corked bottles, but just the wines you come across during your adventurous moments, research, etc where they're just not good, not your favorite? I just ordered a bunch of a single vineyard because I had loved a couple bottles, and they're all falling flat. I had suspected that they were all stored improperly, but my wife and I are pretty sure it's just that they have lots of misses from $15 – 20. Too bad. Weird wines.
So, you open a bottle, and it's either pretty bad, or just undrinkable…. what do you do? Typically, I set it aside, and open a new bottle. I will cook with it, but also sort of subscribe to the "don't cook with what you wouldn't drink".
So… do you just put it down the drain? Wait for a non-discriminating friend if you store it properly? Just wondering if I am missing any options. =)
