Is my 28 year old bottle of Vinsanto Argyros still good?
Hi, I know the FAQ has a 'is my bottle of 5$ table win still good after 10y?' and the answer is 'open it and find out', but this is slightly different.
I bought a bottle on a wine tour from the winery back in 2010, and have been saving it for some kind of special occasion in a cupboard for years. Had completely forgotten about it and on cleaning I'm left wondering if it's something I should save for Christmas this year, or to throw it out.
Winesearcher.com suggests 2005-2015, http://ift.tt/2sUpx51
and cellartracker.com suggests 2010-2030, http://ift.tt/2tDlkzH
Any hints on what to look for without actually opening the bottle? Does age alone mean this is not good anymore, or is it different because of the nature of how this type of wine is made.
Thanks for any help in advance!
