Wondering about a Brunello 2009 vintage.
Hello all! I'm brand new to r/wine and enjoying wine in general. I was recently gifted a Brunello di Montalcino Il Poggione 2009. I was wondering if it's too early to crack it open soon or if I should give it more time. Heaven forbid its peak has already come and gone! Also as a little extra inquiry, if a fine aging wine such as this is opened a little prematurely it's generally still a good wine, correct? It's not gonna be a nasty taste just because you didn't wait right?
