Best non-alcoholic wine suggestions for wine enthusiast mother recently diagnosed with liver cancer?
My mother was recently diagnosed with liver cancer and we're still in the early stages of figuring out how bad things are. For obvious reasons she can't drink any alcohol, likely ever again. Good health is more important than anything, but not being able to drink wine really hits our wine loving family hard. Her favorite part of the day was sitting outside on her deck with a nice glass of wine, and now on top of being scared and sick she can't even do that anymore. I'm very realistic about the fact that non-alcoholic wine is probably not particularly great, but if anyone had any suggestions for something palatable I would be very appreciative. She usually leans towards a well oaked Chardonnay, but prefers any white to any red. I'd love to surprise her with some sort of non alcoholic option that she could have from time to time and regain some sort of normalcy. Hopefully I won't offend any wine connoisseurs of this sub with this question. Trust me, I love wine and take my wine education and tastings pretty seriously. But desperate times call for desperate measures. Thanks for letting me share and thanks in advance for any suggestions.
