So did Romanian wine re-surge during the past decade?
Searching this sub brings up old articles predicting that Romania will become the new Bordeaux, that after some dismal years around 2000 they were now poised to surge, etc. Well, I find myself travelling to Cluj in Transylvania quite often now. I've tasted some of the local Feteasca Neagra and Cab/Merlot/Pinot blends, but although several are decent, I haven't found anything that really wows me yet. Looking for advice and recommendations for wines and wine producers, especially anything near Cluj. Most of what I can find using google seems to be much closer to Bucharest and/or the Black Sea.
