What to include in very first wine tasting for total newcomers
I have recently started to expand my interest in wine. This has led me to organize simple wine tastings at home. Nothing fancy and nothing too expensive. We are all newcomers going into this with open minds and without any prior knowledge.
Now the question is. How do we slice and dice this? What should we taste in our very first wine tasting? Should we choose to compare different grapes? Would it be more interesting to compare new world versus old world? Does comparing different wines from the same region make more sense? How about younger compared to older wines?
If you where in my shoes, how would you plan the tasting?
