Which Bordeaux Futures Are You Buying This Year?
Total Wine has what appears to be a super-painless way to buy futures with no minimums, so I'm giving it a shot this year. I can see from recent history that the price savings are minimal, but it looks like a great way to try wines I wouldn't normally be able to find locally. Plus, it's a fantastic way to buy large formats and 375's without the typical ludicrous markups. Why can't Napa producers do that?
So far I'm getting some D'Armailhac because it was compared in style to Grand Puy Lacoste and Labegorce because it was called a "quintessential Margaux…" but at affordable prices.
