What am I doing wrong that is causing my bottles to chip with a waiter’s corkscrew?
Pretty much see title. For some reason I have never had this problem before about 6 months ago, and I don't know what could possibly be different now from the previous years of drinking wine. When I open wine with my waiter's corkscrew about 50% of the time I chip the bottle. I've tried going in to different depths with the screw and I do my best to make sure the force is distributed evenly across the two contact points. Didn't realize I was such an oaf.
