Old Spanish reds buying advice

I've received an offer from a local merchant for some older Spanish reds that I don't know enough about and I'm not sure who to ask (aside from the guy him self).

We're talking stuff like Campo Viejo Gran Reserva 1964,
Contino Reserva 1997, Faustino I Gran Reserva 1970 – all for less than $150. It seems reasonable considering the age, though I do know that these wines aren't immortal or anything but could be a fun buy to try.

I'm particularly tempted by the Franco Españolas Royal Reserva 1989 and Faustino V Reserva 1985 but only because its mine and my brother's birth year.

Any advice?
