Happy International Sauvignon Blanc Day! What I’m drinking tonight.
Ok, so I know it's just the wine world equivalent to a Hallmark holiday, but I really like Sauvignon Blanc. So I decided to crack open a bottle.
APPEARANCE AND NOSE
Very pale yellow with a touch of green. Notes of gooseberry, mown grass, and definitely some minerality as well.
TASTE Classic gooseberry, citrus, passionfruit, and guava. Very tropical, but none of that strong green pepper/asparagus notes I find in a lot of NZ sauv. Blancs. While I feel that Penninsula Ridge has better Sauvignon Blancs, this one is pretty good as an everyday/patio sipper. And at $15 it is not a bad price either. Would definitely buy again.
